"When I paint, I am not only thinking of images, but stories. For the past 20 years, my interest in figurative painting has reflected my interest in the narrative possibilities of the image. Each painting captures a moment in time allowing the viewer to imagine the situation and context that lead to that particular moment, and the actions to follow. Our curiosity about people allows us to endlessly construct such narratives; to invent our own worlds which we see through these paintings."
